Our school was started in September, 1970. The school building and courtyard were built in 1971, and the gymnasium was completed in 1975.

Enrollment is currently open for the 2009-2010 school year (September 8, 2009 – June 4, 2010).

Our Preschool operates year round – we have openings for full or half-days throughout summer 2009.

Extended child care is provided on-site before and after school.

The Foothills Christian School schedule consists of three days of classroom instruction and requires two days of home school per week.  All students follow this schedule.  The student to teacher ratio is 12:1.  All classrooms have a teacher’s aide that assists for the entire school day.

Foothills Christian School focuses on the fundamentals: reading, writing and arithmetic.  Bob Jones University Press curriculum is used for the language arts program and Abeka for the math  The school day begins with a time set aside for giving glory to God and studying from His Word.

Founded in 1978 by the San Diego Christian Foundation, Southwestern Christian School has been offering quality Christian education to San Diego and Chula Vista families for 30 years. The Foundation is a non-profit California corporation and is composed primarily of members of the Churches of Christ throughout San Diego County. Our school is located in beautiful Chula Vista, just a few miles south of downtown San Diego.
